College of Teacher Education
Program Objectives:
- To produce graduate teachers who act as role models and meet these expectations, thus playing a role in guiding the country's future path.
- To produce graduates who are highly qualified for job markets and contribute to the social and economic development of the nation through the education domain.
- To provide teacher education courses that will build the knowledge and skills needed for students to promote paradigms and practices that engender equality and educational success.
PROGRAMS OFFERED:
Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED)
With major in English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Values Education
The Bachelor of Secondary Education is designed to prepare students as secondary school teachers in various public or private sector organizations. Specifically, this program prepares students to become professionals in local or international arenas. It has a broad approach regarding how education is contextualized in Filipino society, from the promotion of literacy through poverty alleviation to including work ethics in multicultural settings in the curriculum. This enables students to understand what it is like working in international organizations. Research is also included in the curriculum, expecting students to become researchers in their chosen field of interest.
Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED)
This program prepares students to become teachers in Elementary schools either in the public or private sector, or when an opportunity arises. By including theoretical and practical aspects of education, together with the need for personal integrity, this program is designed for students to become effective teachers in the community they will serve and to train students to become effective researchers on good practices of elementary education.
