Program Objectives:

  • To render comprehensive care learned from the academe that will meet the client’s physical, emotional, mental and social needs utilizing the healthcare process.;
  • Enhance graduate’s leadership in multi-professional healthcare education, contribute to the well-being and success of the communities with whom it engages whether its local, national and international level in a rapidly changing global environment.;
  • Graduate are committed in upholding the most rigorous clinical practice standards in the Midwifery Profession;
  • Graduates embody the sense of collaboration and teamwork to yield the desired outcome/s for the betterment of human life;
  • Graduates will support the principle of equal access to health care services allowing the client/patient to stand the right vested on them – practice self – reliance and worth;
  • Graduates will develop a positive attitude to continuing professional development by providing advice and guidance throughout all stages in their learning and development.

Vision:

The School Of Midwifery rooted in compassion, draws upon health care knowledge and experience to provide physical and psychological care of the highest quality. It ensures valued education through advocacy, policy-making, service management and research to allow the students to seize every opportunity to develop personally, academically and professionally.

Mission:

Provide education and training along a lifelong learning continuum to enable individuals to realize their full potential within an open, liberal and facilitative environmental, using a flexible/ blended mode of delivery to meet the needs of a wide range of health care professionals. The ethos of School of Midwifery is one that sees the patient/ client as the primary focus and to make a major contribution to evidence – based and high quality health care.

Core Values:

Caring is best demonstrated by health care professional’s ability to represent the five core values includes human dignity, integrity, autonomy, altruism and social justice. The health care professional will integrate these core values into clinical practice where transmission of knowledge and application be appreciated.
